The Zung Self-rating Anxiety Quiz

Patients can independently complete the questionnaire, or healthcare professionals can use it as a structured interview guide, allowing patients to elaborate on their responses. While this approach may extend the assessment time, it provides professionals with a deeper understanding for more accurate diagnoses.

The quiz comprises twenty questions, each probing different aspects of anxiety, such as nervousness, physical sensations, and recurring nightmares. Patients respond using a four-point scale, ranging from "None or a little of the time" to "Most or all of the time." Scores range from 20 to 80, with higher scores indicating higher anxiety levels.
